Summary of Changes from Previous Version

11/7/2025: Policy documents re-published with minor amendments, as approved by the DVC Education on 13 March 2024 (changes 1-8) and the Academic Registrar on 16 June 2025 (changes 9-10).
Summary of changes:
1. Student Conduct Policy - add a new clause (26) to notify students of their right to appeal a misconduct decision
2. Student Conduct Policy - add a definition of assessment materials to Section 7.
3. Student Conduct Policy Schedule 1 - move clause (2) e v from Academic Misconduct to General Misconduct (1) l to expand the context of impersonation.
4. Student Conduct Policy Schedule 1 - add new subclauses (2) b vii and viii to expand the examples of contract cheating.
5. Student Conduct – Appeals Procedure - amend clause (43) c to clarify that the Student Conduct Appeals Committee remit the matter to the Student Conduct Board or Senior Officer for a re-hearing, at the conclusion of a hearing.
6. Student Conduct – Appeals Procedure - add new clause (12) to enable the Academic Registrar (or delegate) to remit the matter to the Senior Officer, to arrange for the matter be re-heard by another Senior Officer where it is established that a breach of RMIT legislation, policy or procedure has occurred.
7. Student Conduct – Senior Officer Procedure - amend clause (12) c to reference and link to the Conflict of Interest Policy.
8. Student Conduct Policy - remove clause (28) d as it is no longer relevant, RMIT does not offer VCE programs, and the document referenced does not exist.
9. Student Conduct – Appeals Procedure: Amend clause (47) of the to clarify confidentiality requirements.
10. Student Conduct – Senior Officer Procedure: Amend clause (12) e and add two new clauses to introduce timeframes for Senior Officer actions and investigation.
