Summary of Changes from Previous Version
At a high level, the changes:
• Clarify governance by updating the Controlled and Non-Controlled Entity Policy, Procedure and Guideline to align with current practice and sector-standard delegations.
• Establish a new Research IP Translation Entity Procedure outlining how RMIT governs, approves, manages, and disposes of interests in research translation ventures (e.g. spinouts, joint ventures), including an IP Translation Venture Committee and central register.
• Update Delegations of Authority (Schedule 2 – Research and Innovation) to enable the Vice-Chancellor and DVC R&I, within defined limits and subject to Council oversight, to approve participation in and execute agreements for Research IP Translation Entities.
